Aiming to deter crime in central city wards, the city of Aurora launched the “Lighting Up Our Neighborhoods” initiative to improve lighting in dark alleys. The city bought 130 solar-powered, motion-detector LED lights and distributed them to residents in areas with the highest crime rates.
