St. Louis Park worked with other police departments to create a program to boost police applications and increase diversity. The program offered an accelerated program at a technical college that allows candidates to complete their training in four months rather than two years.

The 2018 awards were presented during a special awards show and dinner at the League of Minnesota Cities Annual Conference in St. Cloud.
Project Succeeded
The program boosted the number of applications the police department received. The joint collaboration received a total of 482 applicants and 12 were hired from the pool of candidates.
