Brantford, ON "No Dark Doors" accessibility for the blind
The City of Brantford partnered with the CNIB Foundation to launch the "No Dark Doors" project. The goal of the project was to improve accessibility for blind or visually impaired residents. The CNIB Foundation installed wayfinding technology compatible with the BlindSquare mobile app throughout the City. The app communicates with the small battery-powered beacons through Bluetooth to provide users with navigational information.
