Glasgow City Council, GB collaborates with high school students on Bin It to Win It pilot

Glasgow City Council, GB Bin It to Win It Pilot Students

Complete

First-year students at Castlemilk High School identified a significant gap in public bins while mapping routes from the school to popular lunch locations. The Clean Glasgow team filled the gap with a new bin and spraypainted footsteps on the sidewalks leading to nearby bins. Random audits by teachers and council staff led to prizes for students seen using the bins. The Bin It to Win pilot also studied waste types and hotspots during five community clean-ups.
