The council's In-House Construction Team sought a new approach to reducing its backlog of 1,800 housing applicants. Outside consultants and team members designed a collection of 16 housing layouts for expedited construction on vacant lots. Council officials approved the creation of a Housing Growth Team focused on new site identification and approvals. The Housing Growth Team evaluates site viability and permitting requirements with newly adopted software.
