Hepburn, VIC invests in solar installation at recreation facility for emission and emergency goals

Hepburn, VIC Recreation Facility Emission Emergency Solar

Complete

The Hepburn Recreation Reserve houses a 76-panel solar installation and a Tesla Powerwall 2 battery. This system produces 32,120 kilowatt-hours per year and cuts emissions by 32 tons compared to the previous system. Shire officials pursued this project because the facility is a place of last resort during emergencies as well as a heavily used sporting facility. The solar installation helps the council reach net-zero emission goals for 2029 and keep residents safe during bushfires.
