Herefordshire Council provided free Beryl bike access to health service employees in the early months of COVID-19. This program further expanded to cover public safety and school employees. Eligible residents entered their professional emails into the Beryl app to gain access to the program. The council contracted local firm Pedicargo to sanitize bikes on a regular basis in compliance with public health standards.

TENS of thousands of trips have been made on Hereford's Beryl Bikes this year.

Project Succeeded

The program provided 80,000 free minutes of bike use to qualifying riders in 2020.
