The pilot provides high-speed Internet in a four-block area of downtown Jackson using a buried dark fiber network. Jackson officials aim for a citywide network with up to 100 GB speeds to serve the state's highest concentration of employers. Expanded broadband would also serve nearby institutions like the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Jackson State University.
