Local businesses complete the council's online self-assessment to start the process. This assessment asks business owners about protections and staff training against transmission of COVID-19. Photographs of store upgrades are required and the council may conduct audits to ensure assessment accuracy. Recipients of COVID Safe Awards are provided window signs with QR codes that lead to customer surveys about their in-store experiences.
