Paterson, NJ supports struggling households with Guaranteed Income Pilot
Paterson, NJ Guaranteed Income Pilot
The one-year program randomly selects 110 residents to receive $400 per month in cash. Maximum income limits of $38,000 for individuals and $88,000 for families are applied prior to selection. Paterson works with local non-profit CUMAC to provide free food and essentials so direct payments can be used on other expenses. City officials are hosting three virtual forums about the pilot with resident questions accepted by text message.
