In Progress
The council received funding from the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme for the project. These funds cover a range of solutions including solar panels, air-source heating, LED lights, and smart energy systems. Retrofitting efforts target nine primary schools along with 10 public buildings including the Green Lane bus depot and Rochdale Leisure Center. Borough officials estimate retrofitted buildings will reduce carbon emissions by 2,000 tons per year.
