Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, GB DigiKnow Device
The council's Digital Inclusion Alliance works with local partners to source refurbished computers, tablets, and mobile hotspots. Households with limited connectivity reserve devices and data packages through the DigiKnow Device Library. Volunteers with the DigiKnow Helpline guide residents through technical issues by phone or text. Project partner Community Computers also sells refurbished devices to residents with long-term computing needs.

Project Succeeded
DigiKnow reported 307 device and data loans during its first six months. The DigiKnow Helpline fielded 2,423 texts and calls from local residents. Stockport was a finalist in the Transforming and Innovating Public Services category at the iNetwork Awards 2023.
