Sydney, NSW Active Travel Pop-up Cycleways COVID-19 Pilot

Complete

City officials created six temporary lanes that filled gaps in Sydney's existing bike network. The pop-up cycleways provided more space for cyclists to ride while complying with social-distancing recommendations. The program also sought to reduce vehicle traffic and support local businesses along the routes. Sydney used daily ridership counts and rider surveys to evaluate the pilot's success.
