The Hague, ZH partners with Avutec and Monotch on trial of laughing gas detection technology

The Hague, ZH Avutec Monotch Laughing Gas Detection Trial

Complete

Local law enforcement sought a new solution for growing nitrous oxide abuse in Scheveningen. AI-powered cameras from Avutec were trained to identify balloons and other laughing gas paraphernalia. Data about abusers are immediately sent through Monotch's TLEX platform to the relevant officers for follow-up. A one-day pilot in Scheveningen evaluated camera accuracy, text alert speed, and privacy rights protection.
