Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, GB creates resident role in tree health with Water Me effort
Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, GB Water Me Tree Health
Complete
Water Me supports the annual planting of saplings throughout the borough. A sign on each sapling asks passersby to water trees as part of their outdoor activities. The council encourages greywater and rainwater use that won't deplete the potable water supply. This initiative improves the health of local tree canopies and encourages sustainable thinking in the community. The 2021 campaign complemented regular watering rounds for 214 young trees in 14 districts and towns.
