The council's Open Streets officers surveyed business owners for potential street upgrades that could attract shoppers. Central Goldfields selected High Street and North Street in Maryborough for placemaking projects that connect shops with patrons. Green the Street used existing flower beds and medians to plant native plants that attract attention. Local artists were asked to create sculptures and public art that act as signage for neighborhood attractions.
