Chicago, IL enforces Senior Safety Ordinance with 311 reporting program

Chicago, IL Senior Safety Ordinance 311 Reporting Program

In Progress

Owners of senior apartments are required to test visitors for COVID-19, conduct biweekly wellness checks, and implement other precautions. Residents concerned about compliance use the CHI 311 app or website to quickly file complaints. The city also allows reporting through aldermanic offices and a dedicated phone line. A one-month pilot by the Office of Emergency Management & Communications will refine the program for future use.
