In Progress
The City of San Antonio is leasing a downtown hotel in order to use it as a low-barrier homeless shelter. The San Antonio City Council approved $2.9 million in spending of CARES Act funding to lease the Days Inn hotel and hire the SAMMinistries to operate it. The 50-room hotel will provide shelter, mental health counseling, connection to substance abuse treatment, ID recovery services, employment help and peer support for approximately 250 people over the course of the year.
