RASE Launches Equity Index Map, Thu May 4, 2023 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM | Calendar | City of Alexandria, VA
The City of Alexandria’s Race and Social Equity Office (RASE) is launching an Equity Index Map for City agencies, City Council, and community partners that will assist in the overall goal of eliminating inequities experienced by all residents, especially those in groups that have been historically marginalized. The two key components of the Equity Index Map – the Racial Equity Index and the Social Opportunity Indicators – inform users about the magnitude of disparities observed between racial/ethnic groups throughout Alexandria and support users in asking questions about the factors that may determine those disparities. The Equity Index Map provides users with a resource to think about the root causes of the entrenched socioeconomic disparities in Alexandria and how city officials can address those root causes to achieve equity for all. Join us at Alexandria Renew, 1800 Limerick St., 6th Floor Conference Room, for an immersive opportunity to learn how your organization can use the Equity Index Map to advance equity for all.
