Brampton, ON Coyote Sighting Map provides easy-to-use information on recent coyote behavior
The Coyote Sighting Map pinpoints every sighting within Brampton city limits since October 2022. Residents call 311 or submit an online form to report pet conflicts with coyotes, dens, food sources, and injured coyotes. Each pinpoint can be clicked for information on the sighting's location, time, and date. Brampton created the map as part of a community education campaign featuring fact sheets in 12 languages with tips for safe encounters.

Brampton, ON advances active transportation goals with Different Spokes bike hub partnership
City officials opened the hub with Bike Brampton and Punjabi Community Health Services (PCHS). The Nelson Street West location offers bike repairs and parts replacements. PCHS team members rent and sell reconditioned bikes to residents seeking affordable paths to cycling. Different Spokes also teaches new bike riders and highlights the health benefits of active travel. Brampton pursued the hub as part of its Streets for People initiative, which added 30 kilometers of trails in 2022.

Brampton, ON seeks safer commuter experiences on public transit with BT Safe App
Brampton Transit developed the app as part of its See Something, Hear Something, Say Something awareness campaign. The app's Report Now feature enables anonymous reports of harassing or suspicious behavior on city buses. Commuters press the 911 Emergency button in case of emergency situations. BT Safe App includes a Text Message Security option for users without Wi-Fi or data connectivity. Additional features in the app include service alerts and transit schedules.

Brampton, ON shapes future transit plans with Electric Bus Demonstration & Integration Trial
All-electric buses from New Flyer and Nova Bus are deployed on two Brampton Transit routes. Overhead charging stations at two terminals and one bus stop can fully recharge a bus battery in seven minutes. Brampton Transit worked with TransLink and York Region Transit to ensure charging compatibility once all three systems adopt electric buses. Transit officials estimate an annual emission savings of 235 tons per bus.

Brampton Transit uses Automatic Vehicle Monitoring (AVM) to monitor bus performance on each route. Real-time data anticipate necessary repairs to keep vehicles on the road and commuters arriving at their stops on time. The city also connected its fleet cars to an Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL) system. AVL tracking allows departments to map vehicle movement and adjust inspection routes for improved efficiency.
