Brossard, QC trials Kalitec's Earl traffic safety system for improved driving in school zones
The Educational Awareness Reward Light (Earl) system will be tested outside Académie Marie-Laurier for three months. Earl defaults to a red stop light when there are no vehicles on Stravinski Avenue. The light remains red for vehicles exceeding the 30-kilometer-per-hour limit and changes to green when approaching vehicles are at or below the limit. This system is solar-powered, easy to install, and gathers data useful in planning traffic calming measures.
