Daviess County, KY beings contract negotiations to bring high-speed fiber internet to rural areas
The Daviess County Fiscal Court unanimously approved a contract with Morley and Associates Inc. to to engage in contract negotiations with internet service providers to bring high-speed fiber internet to rural communities. The county is interesting in using nearly $20 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding to implement a public-private partnership that brings affordable and reliable broadband to its unincorporated areas.

Daviess County, KY Sheriff's Department extracts forensic evidence from cloud backup systems
The Daviess County Sheriff's Department implemented new technology to help with forensic investigations involving smartphones, computers, and surveillance cameras. The new software allows investigators to search for evidence even if it was previously deleted by extracting data from backup systems in iCloud, Google Drive, and social media. The software also provides more accurate phone location records and allows detectives to access surveillance from camera systems using proprietary technology.
