Enschede, OV and Collecting Heroes support on-demand recyclable collection for businesses
The collaboration precedes the full-scale removal of underground waste containers in Enschede's city center. Collecting Heroes uses e-cargo bikes for scheduled collections of paper and cardboard from their customers. Existing waste collectors may work with Collecting Heroes on coordinated collections or businesses can directly work with the company. The pivot to on-demand service reduces heavy-duty vehicle traffic, beautifies storefronts, and adapts collections to business needs.

Enschede, OV Temporary Support Necessary Costs scheme helps with home payments during COVID-19
The City of Enschede launched the Temporary Support Necessary Costs (TONK) scheme to help residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. The TONK scheme provides compensation for individuals in rental homes or interest and repayment for the mortgages of homeowners. Eligibility for the TONK scheme is limited to residents whose income decreased by more than 30% due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Enschede, OV partnered with Energieloket Enschede to provide residents free energy-saving products
The City of Enschede partnered with Energieloket Enschede, an energy consumption awareness platform, to help residents acquire free energy-saving products. Every household in Enschede received a green envelope which contained instructions on ordering free energy-saving products from "Save Shop" Energieloket Enschede's online store. Residents simply had to register their postal code, house number, and property status to receive up to €75 in free energy-saving products.
