Gladstone worked with The Next Economy on a multi-year engagement of industry stakeholders and residents. The 10-year plan sets benchmarks for Gladstone's evolution into an energy superpower. These goals include diversifying the manufacturing economy and shifting from carbon-intensive processes to hydrogen power by 2032. Gladstone, QLD expands community services in key areas through Together Gladstone fund
Local non-profit organizations are eligible for $5,000 AUD to $10,000 AUD per project. Together Gladstone focuses on projects that fill gaps in domestic violence prevention, education, health and wellbeing, and youth services. The application period runs through December 31, 2021. Funding decisions will be shared between the council and funding partners like Queensland Alumina and Boyne Smelters Limited.

Gladstone, QLD encourages return to brick-and-mortar shopping with CBD Shopping Spree
Council leaders approved the event to encourage in-person shopping after completion of its footpath renewal project. Purchases at 21 participating shops on Goondoon Street were eligible for participation with no limit on entries. Every store had an entry box that accepted completed entry forms with proofs of purchase. The winning form picked at random received $1,000 AUD in products and vouchers from CBD businesses.
