The council selected streets in Bourton on the Water, Cheltenham, Gloucester, and Tewkesbury for the pilot. Barriers and signage helped pedestrians maintain at least two meters of distance near shops. The barriers prevented vehicles from using street parking spots to create wider sidewalks at traffic choke points. Council officials will use experiences during the pilot to shape active travel projects beyond COVID-19.
