Lima, OH Smart Train Avoidance Pilot IoT Solutions
Fifteen railroad crossings are outfitted with radar sensors and cameras that connect to a cloud platform. Train length, speed, and direction are collected for automated analysis of traffic impacts. The trial experiments with app integrations that communicate potential delays to commuters. City officials are evaluating the accuracy of these estimates while considering use at all railroad crossings. Lima is working with Spectrum Enterprise and US Ignite on the three-year pilot.
