The Municipality of Nacka partnered with Uppsala University and the Climate Secretariat to establish a local carbon dioxide budget. The municipality is using the carbon dioxide budget to raise environmental awareness, map carbon emissions, and maintain transparency for reaching climate goals. The carbon dioxide budget report is publicly available in the ClimateVisualizer cloud-based service where relevant statistics are updated regularly.

The Municipality of Nacka implemented an award-winning digital building permit application process. The previous process allowed customers to submit building applications digitally but still required staff to manually review and register the pdf files. The new e-service system is streamlined by automatically integrated applications into the the business system. The e-service is more efficient and reduces the burden on the administration.
