Prospects for Parents trains unemployed parents for in-demand jobs during a free 12-week course. The council's Financial Inclusion Team offers budget and benefits counseling to participants. Council staffers work with eligible parents on solutions to common employment obstacles like reliable transportation and childcare. Single parents, parents of disabled children, and parents aged 25 and under are among those eligible for the program.

Prospects for Parents - North Lanarkshire's Working

The aim of Prospects for Parents is to help families in North Lanarkshire become better off, by supporting them to get into work or by helping those in low paid work to increase their wages.

Project Succeeded

Prospects for Parents found employment for 42 unemployed residents and improved work wages or hours for 31 parents in its first year.
