Nottingham City Council, GB simplifies public transit journeys with contactless ticketing
Nottingham City Council, GB Public Transit Contactless
Complete
INIT created the Nottingham Contactless system for use on all Nottingham City Transport, NET, and Linkbus vehicles. Commuters pay for their trips with contactless bank cards or mobile payment apps rather than transit cards. The daily fare for buses and trams maxes out at £6.50 no matter the distance traveled. Nottingham officials and INIT are working with regional agencies on the system's application in neighboring transit networks.
Project Succeeded
Nottingham Contactless recorded three million transactions during its first six months of operation.
