Orlando, FL tests Beep's autonomous shuttles in effort to expand public transit options
Orlando and the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority will test two Beep shuttles during an eight-month pilot. The self-driving shuttles travel up to 18 miles per hour with a capacity for up to 10 passengers. The pilot takes place on an existing bus rapid transit route with autonomous buses operating daily during non-peak hours. City officials approved $500,000 for the project including fare-free rides for commuters.

The three-month pilot will test Arcimoto three-wheeled vehicles across departments with high annual mileage. Arcimoto offers the Fun Utility Vehicle for everyday use, the Deliverator for cargo deliveries, and the Rapid Responder for emergencies. This pilot represents the company's first foray into municipal fleets.
