Saarbrücken, SL city-wide IoT connectivity (LoRaWAN)

The city of Saarbrücken partnered with the Stadtwerke Group to implement IoT connectivity using a Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN). The Stadtwerke Group installed LoRaWAN gateways at 50 high-altitude buildings to create an energy-efficient network for sending and receiving data over long distances. In order to promote city-wide digitization, Saarbrücken encouraged local companies to use the LoRaWAN IoT infrastructure to measure their devices, process sensor data, and improve services.
