Stockton, CA Mobile Crisis Intervention Response Pilot

In Progress

City officials are using federal ARPA funds for the three-year program with Community Medical Centers (CMC). Mobile response units are automatically dispatched to 911 calls in need of behavioral health or social services, which are approximately 5% of all calls each year. Unit members de-escalate situations typically addressed by police officers and refer callers to CMC for further care. The pilot initially focuses on downtown Stockton with citywide expansion planned for early 2023.
