Stockton, CA Mobile Crisis Intervention Response Pilot improves responses to mental health crises
City officials are using federal ARPA funds for the three-year program with Community Medical Centers (CMC). Mobile response units are automatically dispatched to 911 calls in need of behavioral health or social services, which are approximately 5% of all calls each year. Unit members de-escalate situations typically addressed by police officers and refer callers to CMC for further care. The pilot initially focuses on downtown Stockton with citywide expansion planned for early 2023.

The City of Stockton's Office of Performance and Data Analytics launched an open data portal that consists of 23 datasets which fall into three categories: public works, public safety, and city development. Users can navigate the data catalog through keyword searches, topic filters, and short video guides. After creating a free account, users can also export or transform data into different visualizations such as bar graphs and maps.
