Tallahassee, FL expands mental health service availability with free counseling pilot
Tallahassee, FL Free Mental Health Counseling Pilot
City officials and Apalachee Center offer up to three free sessions with licensed counselors per resident. Participants arrange weekday morning appointments at the Lincoln Center by phone and are not required to demonstrate insurance coverage. Counselors refer their patients to low-cost service providers after their final appointments. The counseling pilot complements recent city initiatives like non-police responses to mental health emergencies and the creation of Resilience Hubs.
