The town's Building Services team began by converting filed maps, plans, and applications for digital accessibility. An in-development online permitting process will track applications from submission to final decision. Building inspectors received tablets to submit their notes and review documents in the field. Tecumseh approved these upgrades to clear unnecessary steps and save time for town employees as well as applicants.

Tecumseh, ON encourages residents to resolve conflicts with community mediation pilot

Town officials developed the one-year pilot with Community Mediation of Windsor-Essex. Residents who have conflicts not covered by the town's regulations meet with volunteer mediators at public meeting spaces. A one-day mediation session can resolve neighborhood, school, and family disputes for free. Tecumseh pursued this program to build conflict-resolution skills in residents that reduce police calls and public complaints.
