The Akron City Council approved a law requiring the city to release video footage of use-of-force incidents by the police department within seven days of the incident. The video footage from body worn cameras will be automatically posted on the police department's website and if possible it must include at least three camera angles. Any member of the public can petition the city for release of footage they believe has failed to meet these requirements.
