Dallas, TX Day Laborer Workplace Condition Payments Pilot

In Progress

Day laborers in Dallas face unpaid wages and inconsistent working conditions when picked up by contractors. The city converted two police mobile units into resource centers placed at frequently used pickup locations. Laborers receive assistance from project partner Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas on fair and safe work arrangements. This pilot also provides job skills training by the Regional Hispanic and Black Contractors associations for those waiting for work.
