Garden City partnered with Avenu to improve its financial outlook without raising taxes. By reviewing existing income from business licenses, Avenu helped Garden City's Finance Department discover fee collection opportunities which were previously missed. The partnership allowed the city the optimize the administration of its occupational tax program. The city deployed Avenu's system for distributing notices and processing online payments for license registrations and renewals.

Working on a contingency fee basis, Avenu found 267 business licenses that needed registration or renewal resulting in more than $72,000 in unexpected revenue. By partnering with Avenu to administer registrations, renewals, and collections the city saved approximately $66,000 in operating costs. The city has successfully raised fee collections by 32% since it began this partnership with Avenu.
