Isle of Wight Council, GB keeps essential workers mobile with Key Worker Cycle Scheme

Isle of Wight Council, GB Key Worker Cycle Scheme

Complete

The pilot scheme offered loans of bike-share cycles to essential workers including police, healthcare workers, and grocery employees. Each loan included a helmet, a lock, and bike delivery by local providers. Qualifying residents with their own bikes were eligible for 50-pound maintenance vouchers. The Isle of Wight Council used bike-share fleets due to reduced demand from tourists during the pandemic.
