The Municipality of La Plata is installing new security cameras to automatically detect and report road offenses such as crossing a red light, obstructing a pedestrian path, or illegal U-turns. The security cameras capture video sequences when infractions are committed then automatically generates a file and enters it into court records. The municipality is implementing this program to promote road safety while also reducing the number of traffic accidents and road fatalities.
