Washington, DC hiring librarians for every public school
The D.C. Council passed a budget amendment supporting a full-time librarian in every public school. The council approved a tax bump on the District's wealthiest residents to fund the budget amendment. The $3.25 million in funding is being allocated from the school system's enrollment reserve to close the librarian gap at 36 D.C. Public Schools.
