The County created this digitization program to ensure the public maintained access to legible text-based historic documents.

The Licking County Records and Archives Center restored over 200 historic County records books that were stored in the attic of the County Courthouse. The records were added to the department's permanent collection and made available to the public. The restored documents dating back to 1834 include tax duplicates, court dockets, naturalization records, etc. The cleaning project was designed to build the County's collection of historical records and assist with genealogical research efforts.
