Falkirk Council, GB Converted Empty Homes COVID-19 Homeless

Complete

Personnel with the Building Maintenance Division (BMD) adapted 80 empty properties. This work included safety checks, emergency fixes, and modifications for recovering COVID-19 patients. Modified homes assigned to discharged patients opened hospital beds in anticipation of a lengthy outbreak. Falkirk Council's temporary accommodation policy also protected residents without homes from exposure to COVID-19.
