Orlando, FL expands access to the Internet with its Hotspot and Tablet Checkout Pilot

Orlando, FL Hot Spot and Tablet Checkout Pilot

In Progress

Adult residents of Orlando can reserve tablets and Wi-Fi hotspots for free during the one-year pilot. Participants present proof of residency to access connectivity equipment from five neighborhood centers. Each checkout lasts up to two weeks with a one-week buffer between reservations. This program narrows the digital divide identified in Orlando's Future-Ready City strategy.

Hot Spot and Tablet Checkout Pilot - City of Orlando

As part of the Future-Ready City Master Plan strategy to provide better internet connectivity to residents and bridge the digital divide, we have launched a one-year WiFi hotspot and tablet checkout pilot program at select neighborhood centers to provide residents with the opportunity to checkout a device, at no cost, for a two-week time period.
