Orlando, FL tests Beep's autonomous shuttles in effort to expand public transit options

Orlando and the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority will test two Beep shuttles during an eight-month pilot. The self-driving shuttles travel up to 18 miles per hour with a capacity for up to 10 passengers. The pilot takes place on an existing bus rapid transit route with autonomous buses operating daily during non-peak hours. City officials approved $500,000 for the project including fare-free rides for commuters.
