Chattanooga, TN HCS EdConnect fiber-optic program
The City of Chattanooga partnered with telecommunications company EPB to launch the HCS EdConnect program. The program provided internet access to 14,000 students in Hamilton County Schools and 11,000 local households by building upon the city's existing fiber-optic infrastructure. The program focused on closing the digital divide by prioritizing high-speed internet access for students enrolled in in reduced lunch programs and families who receive SNAP benefits.
