The City of Prince George launched the "Titans Den" pilot event to connect local entrepreneurs with successful business leaders. The City of Prince George hosted an inter-agency emergency training session to refine the City Evacuation Map. The training included a 900 square-foot version of the City Evacuation Map which allowed participants to visualize emergency operations during the mock wildfire scenario. The exercise was designed to train local organizations on cooperating and deploying resources during a large-scale emergency operation.

Prince George, BC installed Radio Frequency Identification tags on 23,000 residential garbage carts
The City of Prince George partnered with Lateral Innovation to install Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags on more than 23,000 residential garbage carts. The RFID tags help the City improve customer service by tracking broken, overflowing, or missing garbage carts. The RFID tags also allow staff to pre-plan collection routes and identify households that improperly dispose of recyclables. The project was designed to reduce operational costs, carbon emissions, and landfill waste.

Prince George, BC partnered with Emergency Management BC to pilot a new digital registration system
The City of Prince George partnered with Emergency Management BC to pilot a new digital registration system. The online system was designed to reduce the time needed to register evacuees and decrease the number of staff and volunteers needed at the city's Emergency Reception Centre. The City trained over 250 staff members to use the system when registering evacuees for supports such as food and accommodations.

Prince George, BC piloted 300 bear-resistant residential garbage cart in a local neighbourhood
The City of Prince George conducted a bear-resistant residential garbage cart pilot project. The project involved deploying 300 bins certified by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee in a local neighbourhood in order to deter bears from accessing residential garbage. The certified bins cost five times a regular bin but residents were not charged to participate in the pilot. Parks and Solid Waste Services monitored the pilot to determine potential expansions into other neighbourhood areas.
