Orlando, FL turns campaign signs into green energy with post-election recycling program
Orlando, FL Post-Election Campaign Sign Recycling
In Progress
Orlando and Winter Park established an 18-day window for residents to drop off signs at five locations. Code enforcement officials also collect signs from intersections and public spaces. City staffers deliver gathered signs to local firm NuCycle Energy. Campaign signs are turned into Enviro-Fuelcubes used as low-emission energy for concrete manufacturing. The cities worked with the local League of Women Voters of Orange County to promote the program.
